Fantastic...but now I have ringing in my ears

Ok; the first thing I noticed was the volume was way too loud.
That being said, Here's my score:

Instrument Blend--- 1/1
Accuracy--------------- 1/1
Clear Concept ------- 1/1
Originality------------- 3/3
Appeal----------------- 4/4

-1 for Volume Levels

Total------------------- 9/10

Instrument Blend:
The instruments together were great; it was like a real hard rock band would use.

Accuracy:
That was a pretty damn accurate rendition; the only changes made sense in the song, and were obviously not mistakes; they were creative tweaks ;)

Originality:
There area A LOT of rock remixes of songs on this site; this one really felt like a rock remix. The instuments chosen were perfect, and the subtle changes put feeling into it. Bravo.

Other Comments:
My only beef really is that volume thing; lower it so our ears aren't blown and you've got a seriously amazing song here.

metallistad responds:

*shakes head* yeah, that doesn't suprise me. I just threw it together on the fly. I should've checked it more. Oh well. I'll probably lower the sound when I start putting in the Zelda audio in it. I'm still thinking about doing that.

Pretty Sweet

Instrument Blend:
You kept your instruments in the techno realm; nothing odd and no levels all that messed up (you might consider mixing the volume of the melody down just a tad though.)

Accuracy:
Great Job with the melody; kept it switched up but never fucked up ;)

Originality:
The pulsating melody was a nice touch. The piano at the end was a bold move (btw, that instrument might have needed a little mixing to get rid of the "synthesized" feel.) Not a lot on this site quite like this piece.

Other Comments:
Great remix. It's the kind of techno rendition we've all grown accustomed to in this Audio Portal.

darphfluffy responds:

Wow. Thanks. Thats the first good review anyones left on a song in ages. Thanks for the feedback, and I'm glad you like it.

Pretty Good ^_^

***I've never heard this song, so even though it's a remix, I'm gonna judge it like I judge originals***

Here's My Score:

Instrument Blend:
All the "instruments" you used for this worked well with each other. There wasn't a point in the song where I thought "Wow, that really shouldn'tve been there." So good job with the blend ^_^

Originality:
It was fresh; a lot of remixes on this site are like this in the "Drum N Bass" section, so I've heard a few that sound sort of like this. But still it had it's own feel to it.

Clear Concept:
It was a completed song. Sometimes I hear things in other's pieces that remind me of writer's block--don't exactly know where your going anymore kind of feel, you know? This one didn't have any of that ^_^

Other Comments:
It's hard for me to judge a remix of a song I haven't heard before. But the piece you did was pretty good, so I'll just say that ^_^

WipeoutEffect responds:

Ha, thanks...-gets lost halfway through reading your review- o.o; I guess? e.e; lol anyway, thanks for the review, it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside... heh. anyway, I'm rambling on... Thanks again for reviewing.

Instrument Blend:
The levels were clean, and the instruments didn't clash with each other.

Accuracy:
Except for the parts that you obviously made your own, you knew the melody very well and you kept to it.

Clear Concept:
At no point during this song did I feel like, "....what the heck was that?" Your song was fluid and had a sense of completion.

Originality:
Do I even have to explain? ^_^
This was obviously something very different, yet still had those familiar melodies. You took your own vision and blended it with this song excellently.

ReFreezed responds:

Hey, thanks for a superb review! :D

Good--Maybe Not My Thing--But Good

I'm kind of like you; I love mixing real instruments to make them blend well, but unlike you I like mixing them with synth to make something that makes you take a step back and go "Whoa. Wasn't expecting that."

Anyways, onto the review.

I thought that the instruments blended well with each other. It would be good for a background like it is in the Sonic game. It looped pretty well, which is important for background music.
But I personally like to have a leading melody, so I can't say this was completely my style. You did execute your idea well, and I'm not taking too many points off for personal preference.

rockleetist responds:

Great! Appreciate the constructive feedback!

OK I'll give you brownie points

I think the idea behind it was good. I'm just not sure it was executed properly. Some of the instruments sound out of sync with each other, and it can get really distracting. But I do like the rock concept; are you using real instruments to record, or just MIDI?

Tombor911 responds:

Real instruments except drums...those are midi =(

Your Beats Are Great

Beats are sometimes the hardest things to get just right with MIDI. That being said, this was really fantastic.
After the melody came in, I got a little disappointed; I was hoping for a tribal flute or something, but the synth really didn't do it for me.

But this is still really good!

Tombor911 responds:

Hey thanks! Yeah I was going to put panpipes in but they weren't working =( They wouldn't go with the bassline =(
Maybe I will change it someday! =)
Thanks for the Review!

meeh....

I think you might've gotten just a tad too excited about the sound effects, and completely neglected the song.
Sorry.
This was barely anything.

Legatoblue4 responds:

Wow, coming from a Zelda avatar... lol. You have no idea

blech

Wow, pitchbend much?
the idea was clever.
the execution was poor.
it's too hard to listen to, because its just a bunch of notes. you can't even recognize the theme.

this was just awful.

delmor responds:

it is supposed to be pitch bended its the idea of it

not bad

When the beat started by itself, I was a little concerned.
But you really brought it back with the funky style. It's not really my style, but it's definitely note worthy.

CB7 responds:

Thanks for the comment. :)
