Hey John!

It's Alisa from NU Choir!
What MIDI program are you using?
Is this an original?
The melody line is pretty good if this is an original. Although if it's meant to be sung; I would slow down the BPM.
If not, then I'm completely off base on this :)

JLSthe2nd responds:

Hey Alisa!

The melody is actually Greensleeves, so you're right on that. But everything else is stuff I've done to expand upon it. The MIDI program I use is Anvil. I know it's not the best, but I got it free. As a poor college student, it'll work for now.
Thanks for the input :)

Best Thing Ever!

Love it.
You should've put vocals in though! I would've loved to have heard the voice behind the creative soul ^_^

A+ and then some, sir.

Hey Not too Shabby

This kind of has a Resident Evil "Typewriter Room" feel to it to me. I like it. I'm just not too big of a fan of the instrument quality. To me the fading instruments at the beginning have an off pitch cool feel to them, but the main instruments ( I can't tell if they're horns or voices :S ) sound just too fake.
And the ending dissonances were a little weird... sometimes adding some minor "eerie" chords can bring a new element to a piece as long as they still make sense in the piece. And I'm not quite sure they do. You should consider reworking the end.

This is a great start of an original piece. I'd love to hear it with a better quality program if you ever have a chance.
Keep up all the great work.

thanks for the review, check out m other new remix as well the castlevania one

Nice

Usually I'm not one for the 8-bit sound, but this is pretty good ^_^
Nice synth structure.
Can't wait to hear your other version.

blah

You didn't change anything. I was very disappointed :(
Even if you had just changed the instruments to something with a little personality...

this just felt like a very, very, rough draft to me.
Sorry.

Points for getting most of the melody correct though.

boss

I honestly think that the you could've done this without the soft beginning. It sounded ok for the first half, but I didn't get super excited till the drums came in. Seriously though, major props. I hate this song in the game, but I love your version ^_^

Hahaha thanks!

Best Forest Temple Remiz I've Heard Thusfar

This is pretty tight as is dude.
Maybe shortening the beginning a little bit, so as to get to the goods quicker.
The flute--especially beginning at 1:38--doesn't feel like it fits with the music. Maybe add a little more distortion to it, just so it doesn't stand out too much.

But otherwise, from one zelda fan to another, this is teh shit dude!

It's Ok

The drum beats behind it sound a little funny. And the piece was too slow for the genre.
But it did have kind of a new modern feel to it. So I give you points for that.

SonicJ responds:

Thanks for the review ~
Although, I don't understand exactly how the drums sounded funny, everything came the way I wanted it. Each sound was intentional. Also, the original BPM is so slow, I figured to stay in that range for the best option. At the very least, you under stood my want to make it modern, Ty!

How Very Different

That's kind of crazy good. I'm weirdly enough getting an image of a small french village... bizarre.
But crazy skills man!

Way Cool

I liked that feel; it was very much what I think of Kokiri Forest--children running around, nothing overpowering, just playful. And I loved your choice of instruments. I'm normally not one to listen to an instrumental, but this had your own personal feel. I especially loved the part with the piano and the parts with the Ocarina. Those was fantastic.
A+

For the Love of All Things VG Music; If you have a request, PM me! I'll check it out and get back to you! Thanks for all your support! <3
